Had a brilliant dinner at Amicus Apple in Frederick Street during the week with my friend. It started off well since house wine was 2 for 1

The service was impeccable and I would go as far to say that the waiter was one of the best I have encountered in Edinburgh.
I used the List Card here for dinner but will definately be back again as I was pleasantly surprised at the quality for ‘pub food’.

Neither of us could see past the thai curry that was on the menu at £8.95.
It was absolutely delicious, not too spicy, but a nice touch was the pita bread and tsatsiki on the side. The portion was very generous and the rice was cooked perfectly, although it doesn’t look that good in the photo.
Along with our wine, we were served iced tap water with lemon without any feelings of being made to feel guilty for doing so. I wish Edinburgh restaurants would serve it automatically. For dessert, we both had the Amicus Apple crumble with cream at £4

Again, I don’t think the photo does it justice. It was reasonable in size and was cooked perfectly with it being crunchy on top. You can order ice cream with it if you don’t like cream.
A thoroughly satisfactory meal with near perfect service (slight confusion over the List Card) and I will definately be returning. We both felt comfortable as we ate in the respect that the office crowd were there in their smart suits, we weren’t and it didn’t matter.
Suitable for disabled ? No, unfortunately not as the pub is down a set of stairs
